The DMV Competitive Baseball League

A Local DMV Summer Baseball League

A superior alternative to travel baseball for competitive players

Baseball Game

Philosophy

The DMV Competitive Baseball League is a new kind of baseball program for high school ball players. Every word in our name is relevant:

The DCBL is a league, not a team or a club. Players will see the same opponents many
times throughout the summer leading to friendships and rivalries.

The DMV is our home. There are lots of great baseball players here, so we don’t need
to travel the country to find good competition (or blowouts). Staying local saves time and
money.

Competitive baseball is our top objective. We will evaluate players to build balanced
competitive talented teams, not to win meaningless medals and banners. When one
team wins the league championship in August, those players will revel in their success.

The Season

We will have four games and one practice per week. All DCBL events will be on weekday evenings.

Pre-Season

The first two weeks 2 of the season will be preseason. The players will be assigned to preseason-teams based on the positions they requested when they signed up. From then until the beginning of the regular season the teams will play four games per week with their preseason-teams. The coaches will rotate among the different preseason-teams so every coach sees every player.

After the final preseason game, the coaches will conduct a draft and create the teams.

Regular Season

The regular season teams will be issued uniforms and will play together for the rest of the summer. These games are competitive with league standings and player stats
recorded and published on our website.

Championship Night

The last night of the season will be a double header. The first game will feature the third and fourth place teams. The second game will be the first and second place teams.

We will invite scouts and coaches to our games throughout the season. With our schedule published at the beginning of the season, if scouts or coaches want to see a particular player, it is much easier for them to decide when to visit because they don’t need to worry about how the tournament will unfold to see the players they want to see.

Eligibility

Baseball players are eligible to apply for the DCBL if they played either Varsity or JV high school baseball. As part of the application process, they must submit proof of experience as explained in the application form. Each applicant will be evaluated on this proof before being offered a spot in the league.

Meet the Team

The team behind the teams! We work hard to put our players out on the field, and we're proud to be part of this project.

CONTACT

Filling out this form doesn't create an obligation. It is a necessary step to get an invitation to play in the league, and will add you to our email distribution list. We hope you will consider playing with us this summer!
